Meet The Rainbow Club Board
A grassroots community-based organization founded in 2017
The Rainbow Club is a not-for-profit corporation governed by a Board of Directors. The Rainbow Club is focused on serving the community across the South Georgian Bay Region (Meaford, Town of The Blue Mountains, Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Clearview Township).
Founded in 2017, The Rainbow Club is a grassroots community-based organization serving the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, queer or questioning individuals and all our collective friends, families and allies (LGBTQ+) across the South Georgian Bay Region. Our mandate is “Connecting our Community'', we do so through social events, fundraising, educational programming, and much more.

Michelle Kemper

BOARD CHAIR
Michelle Kemper has been a lawyer since her call to the Ontario bar in 2008. She now designs curriculum and continuing professional development programs for lawyers and paralegals, with a focus on meaningful, inclusive learning experiences. Michelle lives in Collingwood with her teenage son and their beagle, Huck, and loves being close to the natural beauty of Georgian Bay. A proud lesbian and dedicated community advocate, she serves as volunteer Chair of the Rainbow Club of South Georgian Bay. Michelle is deeply committed to building an inclusive community where everyone can participate, feel safe, and truly belong.

Dr. John Miller
VICE CHAIR
Born and raised in the small town of MacTier, Ontario Dr. John Miller has been a dentist in Collingwood for 25 years. A charter member of the Rotary club of Collingwood South Georgian Bay, a previous board member of the Collingwood Downtown BIA and recipient of the Order of Collingwood, Dr. Miller has always had a keen interest in supporting and strengthening the community of Collingwood to make it the best it can be. Dr. Miller is Co-founding member of the Rainbow Club, a grassroots organization designed to unite the 2SLGBTQ+ community with each other and with the citizens of Collingwood South-Georgian Bay.
Dr. Rehan Lakhani

BOARD MEMBER
Dr. Rehan Lakhani is a Naturopathic Doctor and Clinic Director of Georgian Bay Integrative Medicine in Collingwood. He holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences from Western University and a Doctorate from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. A regional educator for Nature’s Way/Integrative Therapeutics and former board member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors, Rehan blends research, testing, and evidence-based therapies in his work. His clinical focus includes mental health, cardiovascular health, fertility, musculoskeletal conditions, and healthy aging.

Krista Burgess
BOARD MEMBER
With 20 years of experience in Ontario’s Elementary education system, Krista is a passionate advocate for 2SLGBTQ+ visibility and inclusion. As an Additional Qualifications (AQ) Instructor for the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO), which supports professional development for Ontario’s 84,000 educators, she has written and instructed educators on 2SLGBTQ+ curriculum and Teaching Reading. As a dedicated social advocate and curriculum writer, Krista specializes in creating inclusive spaces where queer youth can thrive, recently developing an inclusive Phys Ed curriculum for grade nine students. Krista believes that education is the primary tool for building a future rooted in queer joy and intergenerational support.
